I started by exploring how autistic children perceive and express emotional responses to sensory experiences — especially taste.

I was particularly interested in how facial expressions connected to different flavours (like sweet, sour, salty, spicy, and bitter) might be interpreted by children on the autism spectrum.

Final Line of enquiry:

How to express the inner experiences of autistic individuals through visuals, rather than explaining their behaviors using language or standard facial expressions.
